Yesterday while visiting a historical building in Agra a local man asked me to try a bite of what he was eating. It looked like a white carrot, and thinking the mystery food was parsnip I obliged. Something in his gleeful, mischievous countenance should have hinted that I was in for a surprise. Regrettably I discovered the mystery vegetable to be horseradish. My sinuses cleared and my eyes beginning to water, I looked on as this strange man laughed, grabbed back his vegetable, and proudly took a bite. He was eating the horseradish like Bugs Bunny eats carrots.
